Count one's chickens before they're hatched

To count one’s chickens before they’re hatched is to assume that  some benefit is coming even if the cause of such benefit is still unsure to happen.   (‘Don’t count your chickens before they are hatched’ is also used.)

“Uncle has drawn up a will bequeathing to me half of his wealth.  My friends say I should begin planning what to do with the money, but I don’t want to count my chickens before they’re hatched.”
