Cry-baby

A cry-baby is a person who is very emotional and cries too easily.  

“Mountaineering is a difficult and challenging project. We don’t need cry-babies in our group.”

 

Cry wolf

To cry wolf is to raise a false alarm.   

“Last week he said there was fire in his room but it turned out he was just kidding. Yesterday nobody believed him when he said the same thing. But this time the fire was real and nobody went to help him. So it’s not good to cry wolf.”

Cry over spilt milk

If you cry over spilt milk, you worry about things or situation that you cannot change or improve.  

“Let’s face it, we invested and lost. What we should do now is raise money to pay our debts. There’s no use crying over spilt milk.”

Cross your fingers

  
To cross one’s fingers is to hope things will turn out well or favorable to him.   

“Cross your fingers your mother will not notice the damage on the sofa.”

Crocodile tears

Someone who sheds crocodile tears simply pretends to be sorry or upset but in reality he is not affected at all.  

“Those are crocodile tears she’s shedding. When the man was sick she would not come near him to feed or comfort him.”

Creature comforts

These are the things that make life more comfortable and pleasant.  

“After a grueling day at the office, I look forward to the creature comforts of home.”
